Welcome to Café Fifth Avenue

Hi, my name is Pete Oliver and I welcome you to the Cafe Fifth. My wife Trisha and I have used our 30 years of country club and resort experience to create a casual, comfortable and affordable place right here in the city. We keep it casual because, well, I'm done wearing a suit and tie to work. We keep it comfortable by trying to stick to the "golden rule" (remember that?). And we keep it affordable because it's just us; no silent partners, no loud obnoxious partners, no district managers and no area supervisors. Our test kitchen is where I have my morning coffee and most of the things we do right, came from our employees. We stick to the K.I.S.S principle when planning our menu by using quality ingredients, simple preparations, and ample portions.

Join us for lunch, a little after work socializing or some pre-concert and pre-Penguin game fun. Located a very short walk from the Consol Arena and Palumbo Center, your group will enjoy hearty sandwiches, creative salads, our famous wings, fresh dough pizza , great drink specials and more.

Our regular guests have seen many physical and operational changes and we value their perspective. They have allowed us to stay in business for nine years now. One of their favorite features of our restaurant is "The Wall". I am frequently asked about it. The souvenirs are gifts from some very special people who once upon a time, were first time guests. And each of these gifts has a story.

Many people are unaware that all or part of the upstairs can be reserved. While you’re here, check it out. If you think it might fit your needs, we’ll talk. And if you want to reserve the party room, it’s usually done with a handshake. Heck, on some days you can rent the whole place. We also do a good bit of affordable business lunch catering, ask me what we can do for you, I will welcome your inquiry.

If you stop in for a Consol Energy Center event, chances are you will be greeted by one of us and thanked when leaving. Hope to see you soon,

Pete and Trish Oliver
